CountStock software features

Wizards

Count stock has three wizards to help you proceed through the stocktaking process.

New Location wizard

This wizard will assist you in creating locations for your stock counts and stocktakes.

 Import data wizard

The import data wizard will guide you through the process of getting your existing database into the Count Stock software. It can automatically import data from some point of sales systems without any setup required. If your point of sales system is not in the list of fully automated importing the wizard will guide you in importing your data manually. Once you have imported your data you can save a template so updating your database the next time becomes semi-automated.

Full stocktake wizard

This wizard will guide you through the full stocktaking process. The process is first to create one or multiple stock counts, import the stock counts into a stocktake and then finally export the stocktake to a common file that most stock management software can understand.

Wizard Items

Multi-device

Count Stock can run on multiple devices allowing you to capture stock counts on either computers, laptops or android devices to be later consolidated into one stocktake

Multi-device

Android Application

The android application will run on the majority of android devices and integrates with devices that have a built-in or external barcode scanner. If no scanner is available the software allows the scanning of barcodes using the device’s camera.

Multi-location

The software allows the user to create multiple locations for different stocktakes. This is how you could keep your retail store stocktake separate to your backup stock count or your random stock checks isolated from your main financial year end stocktake.

Multiple locations

Multi-server

Multiple servers can be run on the same network. This will allow you to control multiple businesses stocktakes from a single location.

Templates

Templates can be created for importing, correcting and exporting stock items. Once you have your database imported just the way you like it, you can save it as a template, and use the template the next time you need to update your database.

Custom templates

Import from an Existing Database

Count Stock can import from a number of different database types such as a Microsoft Access database or the common comma separated values (CSV) file. This will create a master stock list for you to use in your stock counts.

Data Import

Modify Incorrect Data

This feature is here to correct any database errors and will generally not be needed. It was included into the software so the user can have full control over their data.

Data correction

Clear Database

After using a database for years it becomes cluttered and messy. This feature will delete the master stock list and allow you to start fresh without losing any data from previous stock counts and stocktakes.

Create Stock Counts

Stock counts are created on the device you are using to count the stock with. Multiple counts can be created for multiple locations at the same time. These counts can then be send to the Count Stock server for moderation and processing.

Create stock counts

Create Stocktakes

Stocktakes are created only on the Count Stock server. Once a new stocktake has been created you would consolidate all of your stock counts, from all of your devices, into one stocktake list.

Create stocktakes

Export Stocktakes

Once you have completed the stocktaking procedure the software will export a single stocktake comma separated values (CSV) file. This file can then be imported into your current stock management software.

Export stocktakes

Reporting

Reports will help you track down discrepancies in your stock counts. You can view stock counts or stocktakes based on the date that they were created and filter the data based off of a stock item. The stock counts will be displayed in the order the items were captured making it easier to track down where the item was at the time of capturing.
